It Takes a Village: A Testimony of Academic Achievement

By Cameron R
(Atlanta Branch)

In my previous semester of Honors Biology I had to take the End Of Course Test ( EOCT). My teacher offered after school tutoring sessions to me and my classmates to help prepare for the upcoming test. Unfortunately, due to my Mom’s work schedule she was not able to pick me up from the after school tutoring sessions.
To assist, my Elder Michael took the time out of his schedule to pick me up from school so that I could benefit from the extra tutoring. When Elder Michael picked me up after each session we would talk about what I went over in class and how it related to Israel.  Each time we also talked about water. Water is the most unique element and most important for life. We talked about reflecting and how reflection relates to water; Because when you look in clean living water you can see a reflection of yourself like a mirror. The conversations would last for a long time and I appreciate the wisdom and knowledge my Elder shared with me.
My teacher set a goal for the class to achieve 85% on the EOCT. I am proud to say that I surpassed that goal; I received a 91% on the EOCT. I would like to thank my God, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, and Elder Michael for my success.
