Ezra earns "Most Innovative Solution" award

Join me in congratulating Ezra Blair for participating in the FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition and for receiving the "Most Innovative Solution Award".

The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO League introduces students to real-world engineering challenges.  FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, learn to make positive contributions to society.

Ezra's team created a solution to assist senior citizens who had problems reaching heavy objects from high shelves.  They performed market research, conducted senior citizen interviews, created a prototype of their solution, and presented their solution before a panel of judges at the competition.  The judges were very impressed with their well thought out solution as well as Ezra's confident and well articulated presentation.

In addition, Ezra's team created a programmable robot and participated in a task completion obstacle course competition, and placed in the Top 10.

FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition Participants get to:
  • Design, build, test and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology
  • Apply real-world math and science concepts
  • Research challenges facing today’s scientists
  • Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills
  • Participate in tournaments and celebrations

Great Job Ezra!  We are Very Proud of You!  Keep Up The Good Work!
