County Basketball League Champions

Congratulations to Rachel for her team winning 1st place in the local county basketball league. This was Rachel's first year playing the sport and she accomplished this goal along with her teammates while maintaining an "A" average in academics.

Basketball Scholarships

The most common question athletes and their parents ask is, "how do I get a basketball scholarship?" or "how do I get recruited for college basketball?". In short, exposure to college basketball coaches is the answer. College basketball recruiting can start as early as freshman year in high school. Well-funded and highly competitive Division I and II programs start building prospect lists early in an athlete's high school career (some are beginning to prospect at the 8th grade level). It's never too early to start gaining exposure to college basketball coaches.

As you can see from the chart below, there are tremendous basketball scholarship opportunities that exist at the college level. Make note of all the opportunities that exist outside of Division I! Just because you may not be Division I basketball talent doesn't mean you can't play college basketball and earn athletic scholarship money towards your education.

  3. Way to go Rachel! Congrats on your victory! As far as sports scholarships, start putting together a "highlights" tape, then you can shop it around when it's time to apply to college.
